A windy day at Muscat Bay

Jamal, Gemma and Sophie

I had the pleasure of capturing this wonderfully photogenic family - for their first ever family shoot! We walked a short walk to the beach…I was carrying my gear and some supplies, Jamal led Auggie the doggie on his leash and Gemma carried a few wardrobe changes. Little Sophie walked a little way behind us all, at the leisurely pace of a toddler….taking in her surroundings.

We strolled around the beach taking some walking shots. Miss Sophie discovered how much fun it was to run with the wind blowing in her hair….then the texture of the sand, followed by washing her hands in the nearby water…then playing with the sand again.

Jamal and Gemma fell in love with Oman while living in Sur. When considering locations for their family shoot, the beach seemed like the best choice. Linen, and cotton outfits worked well with the surroundings creating an effortless feel, the wind graciously provided some drama.

This couple’s love for music, dancing and life made for an idyllic experience and we walked (and danced) around the beach. Honourable mention goes to Sophie’s epic curls that framed her little cheeky smile. Auggie was on his best behaviour, staying close to the family, exploring nearby palm trees while we took pictures with some ruins.

I have never been to this corner of Muscat; exploring new locations is such a wonderful part of shoots! I hope to shoot with this family again soon!
